The 660s had a problem w/ the gas getting HOT. That issue was fixed. Not sure what they did for the 660.
The 700s have a gas tank pressure problem. Yamaha has updated the vent valve and no now more issues w/ that. The older 700s need to be updated w/ the new valve or else modify the existing one. Some folks are drilling out the little check ball or replacing the valve w/ an inline gas filter.

One other thing to check is make sure the gas vent hose is not plugged. It was plugged with mud. That happened to my wifes 450 Kodiak while out in Utah. It was spraying gas because of it.

I had the problem and posted it earlier in this board. After reading about how you can driil the check valve out, I decided that for me the best way to handle this was to take it back to the dealer while it was under warranty and let them fix it. That way it is documented and I have a written copy of it if I would need it in the future.
I felt that if I "fixed" it myself and then later was injured that the dealer would blame me.
Since the installation of a new check valve was made I have ridden several hundred miles in very hot weather and have had absolutely no issues.

My 700 does have a pressure issue but it doesn't affect the performance and I just crack the gas cap to let the pressure out when I'm stopped and I think about it.  One of these days I'll get around to talking to my dealer to see about getting an updated part / gas cap.

Here is a link on Highlifter where they talk about the issue...

We noticed that my wife's built a lot of pressure this weekend after riding in upper 80-90 degree temperatures.  Looks like she will be getting a new check valve soon.
