Some of you guys may recall my Vinson 500 barking like this also. It started after I had my little accident. Never did it once before that so I figured something happened then. I took the cover off and replaced the belt and cleaned the drive plates up real good. It didn't do it for the longest time, didn't have any trouble in Utah. But on occasion it would bark, just to let me know I didn't get it completely.

BTW- I decided to do option #2-

Airwave, how many miles you got on your new toy?
I would like to learn the secret hand shake.
The one where I get a handfull of throttle and ride trails all day.

Thanks for all the comments and possible solutions to my KQ problem.  We just returned from CA yesterday, so nothing else has been done about the 450 yet.

Perhaps option #2 isn't such a bad option.

option II
Go ride one around, ask dan to let you ride his around the farm one day.  You will love the power steering and the lazy boy suspension, its a great trail bike.  It took Ro a day to get use to the power steering, she loves hers now. We can and do ride about 100 miles a day and your not even tired at the end of the day.

ok i will stop now - lol   I dont have my commission plan worked out with Yamaha quite yet ..

Well, someone should be getting a commission here.  It seems all of QC will soon own a Grizz.  Believe me, if Zippy had his way I would have had a Grizz instead of the KQ.  I don't want or need that much power for the riding I do.....maybe next year since I am becoming more comfortable riding now.

I believe 2TV was the first with the Grizz PS, wasn't he?  You might have to split the commission.

What color did she get?

Well the power is controlled with your right thumb.  It is nice to know its there if you need it. The bike is very forgiving

I have a 2008 with the same problem the belt was chipped and seemed to slip.  It started it about one month after I got it.  We asked them and they said it just needed adjusting so we didn't feel the extreme need to run it in right away. we weren’t able to  take it into the dealership till after nine months.  Here is the BAD!  Suzuki claimed we abused it which if riding it and not even pushing it means abuse, then what is the point of having it?  It was very well taken care of.  I had to replace the clutch and suzuki would not warranty it.  I have talked with others who owned the exact machine, same problem and suzuki won't back it up.  And its their faulty parts or workmanship.  Buyer beware. It cost me dearly.

We had the same exact problem with the belt on my 450 KQ, and we took it back to be serviced several times.  We were told it was fine, no wear on the belt!  We recently traded it for a 550 Grizz with PS.  One of the fellows at the dealers drove my KQ to check it out, and he came back and told Zippy there was something wrong with the belt.  He was telling him it had a problem, and here we were trying to make a trade....WELL, Zippy let him know in a few words how they kept telling us it was fine, and to be expected.  Fortunately, we had all the receipts and copies of our complaints in our file.   Shocked
