Hi all, So anyone wanting share their thoughts/opinions on their new RZR's.  We appreciate Mr. Ed sharing his thoughts last week, and are hoping others will do the same.  One of us  Wink is wondering if we're better off to stay with seperate machines, while the other would just like to keep up.  Roll Eyes  So, it would be good to hear additional comments.  Thanks.

It's me again!  I guess we have been doing a lot of sharing our thoughts in PM's, when they should have been public.

I can only speak from my one ride last weekend, but I will tell you it was a lot of fun.  However, IMO you still need a quad if you really enjoy riding.  I know I couldn't always be a passenger, and be happy.

The RZR's low center of gravity makes it a great machine, but then on the other hand you do bottom out on the rocks now and then.  The driver has to look at the trail situation a little differently than on a quad.

I have to agree with Ms.B. The ATV is more fun. It keeps the driver on his toes trying not to bottom out. I do like the ride it is very comfortable, plenty of power, it is a gas hog though that may be because it is not broken in yet. I bought one because the wife liked the idea of being able to sit there and talk (although it is a little loud) and we only had one machine to maintain so the RZR solved the problem.

Now if I could only sell the 07 King Quad 700.

Really is different in one of these. The driver can’t just fall in and follow the same line as most ATVs, but they are more than capable of going the same places.

The first thing I’d recommend is to get rid of the stock skid. I’m a big fan of UHMW skids! The stock springs leave a lot to be desired right out of the box and will quickly get worse. But you don’t have to go with high dollar shocks and springs. There are several others available these days but many as well as myself have simply mounted the Highlifter Rzr springs underneath and the ride height is maintained. I’ve watched and researched lift kits for a year and half before installing one and now ground clearance isn’t even an issue.

Agree with Ms. B, full time passenger status would get boring compared to piloting a ATV. But driving one can be a blast. I’ve found that I’m much more willing to let someone else drive the Rzr (with me in it) than I ever was with my quad. The wife by her own choice hasn’t driven it yet, but she never really felt comfortable on a quad!  Odd thing is it rarely leaves camp or a trailhead with a empty seat, and I'm sure most of my ride time is spent riding shotgun.......go figure?

The comfort factor is hard to explain, it just has to be experienced on a long ride!

With as many "couples" as there are on Quadcrew I can see where a rzr makes a lot of sense for many of us.
I test drove one Saturday, to my surprise she liked it and there was plenty of room for us both.
I am going to wait for the new models to come out and see what is available before we decide. CanAm, Yamaha, powersteering.
Still having a lot of fun on the grizz but a sxs is in the near future.

Zippy sold his Can-Am today; he is very pleased with the RZR.  I asked him to be sure he was making the correct decision; even when we knew a potential buyer was on his way.  (It is my honest opinion that one should have both a quad and a RZR).  His reply was, "We have your Grizz, and the RZR, so WE can share them".  WELL, this tells me I'll be driving that RZR more than I thought I would be allowed!  Shocked

Thanks to all!  We are still debating the issue.  Anyway, we are going to HM late next week and thought it might be helpful to rent a SXS for a day, but IROC doesn't rent anymore.  Angry So hopefully we'll get to see some in action on the trails,  as I don't think anyone going in our group this time has one.
