Hey everyone! I haven't been on here in awhile, but after the riding vacation a couple of weeks ago, thought I would share.
Some friends and I loaded up the dirtbikes, a couple of dual sports, and street bikes (I know this is Quadcrew, but we only had so much room in the trailer) and headed to Colorado for some awesome riding.
We stayed With my buddy's uncle in Divide, just west of Co Springs. We were able to just get on and ride right into Pike National Forest, about 1/2 mile from the house. The trails are spectacular, the weather cooperated for the most part, and we saw plenty of wildlife - elk, mulies, coyotes, etc. Took off on a road trip in the middle of the week. Went up through the Rocky Mountain Parkway. What a great trip on a bike! You get above the tree line, there was still snow in some places. We logged about 450 miles that day.
Made it to the top of Pike's Peak, 14,110 ft. We took the van for this trip, as 1 person with us wasn't riding. Words can't begin to describe the views!
On the way home we headed up through Wyoming, to South Dakota into The Badlands. Unbelievable sights! I can't wait to go back. We're already planning a trip for next summer. My buddy talked to his uncle a day or 2 ago, we hit the weather about right, as they woke up to more than 8" of snow the other morning.
Like the heading states "arguably some of the best riding" anywhere!
I'll try and post some pics soon.

Jeffro, now that is what QC is all about; sharing the excitement of our rides.  We recently saw a lot of the same areas you mentioned, but it was sightseeing after riding in Utah.  I can hear the excitement in your writing, and I know what you mean since we felt the same.  It is some of the most beautiful country!

Thanks for your post, and I hope it will encourage others to take the time to travel and see what is out West, and all the great riding there is to be done on Quads or Dirt Bikes.  We did some long days in Utah, but you just don't get tired on those trails.

Do you have pictures to share with us?

Very nice report, Jeffro. It's other riders reports that hold us over until we can do our own riding. Thanks for sharing!  Smiley
